# Tyler Gaw > Designer and software engineer since 2006. Building human-focused experiences. Based in New York City. Tyler Gaw is a designer and software engineer who has worked professionally since 2006. He practices across product design, UX, UI, graphic design, illustration, and full-stack engineering. He describes himself simply as "A Designer" and answers the question "design or code?" with "yes." He is the founder of Latchbolt, an independent human-focused software practice. Latchbolt's first product offering is Pezzos, it's the iOS app for modern collage, released in February 2026. Previously, he was a founding engineer at Summer, Director of Engineering at Rokt, co-founder of Limbo, and an engineer and designer at The Groundwork where he helped build the technology that powered Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. His approach to building software prioritizes humans over engagement metrics. He values progressive enhancement, the principle of least power, and designing products that respect people's time and attention. This site is built with Eleventy, hosted on Netlify, set in Proto Grotesk, using browser-native CSS and minimal JavaScript. The source is available on GitHub. Tyler has maintained versions of this site since 2006. ## Now Right now, February 2026, Tyler is focused on shipping Pezzos, the iOS app for modern collage.
